Step Back in Time at Belmont Mansion
Just three miles from downtown Nashville, Belmont Mansion invites you to explore one of the largest antebellum homes in Tennessee. Your visit begins with an introduction from a trained interpreter before you wander the elaborately restored Italian Villa–style rooms at your own pace. Admire original furnishings, artwork, and statuary while knowledgeable guides stationed throughout share fascinating stories.
After touring the mansion, stroll the meticulously maintained rose garden and grounds, now part of Belmont University—named one of the 10 most beautiful urban campuses in the country. Don’t miss the exhibit “Upon the Toils of Many: Enslaved, Free, and Immigrant Laborers,” which sheds light on the lives of those who built and maintained this grand estate.
